In Zaporozhye, the case of the botulism has been recorded for the second time. The 30-year-old woman was taken to the intensive care unit of the regional infectious diseases hospital in Zaporozhye. At the weekend, the woman used dried fish, bought at a local store – perch, bream and mackerel. The next day, the first symptoms of the disease: vomiting, fever, clouding and doubling in the eyes. Now the patient’s condition is very difficult. This is the second case of botulism in the city. On June 5, a 62-year-old man who consumed dried fish died of botulism. Todate, in the intensive care of the local hospital there are 5 people with this infection. It is also known about the death of a man in the city of Sumy. The Red Cross helps Ukraine handle with this problem. The organization has transferred the required number of vaccines against botulism and tetanus.
