Is there life outside the Earth? Probably everyone asked themselves that. I can safely say that life exists not only on our planet. It turns out that unknown living beings dwell on Mars.
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun, and its size is only 10% of the Earth’s mass. Mars is full of volcanoes, and there is a special mineral – maghemite, giving the planet a bright red color. Because of it Mars is often called the “red planet”. The ancient Romans, in turn, called it the name of the god of war, cause the color of Mars is very similar to the color of blood. Surprisingly, the water on Mars exists only in the form of ice. And in the past, this liquid covered the entire surface of the planet. That clearly shows that that earlier the living conditions on the Red Planet were favorable. It’s amazing, but the lowest temperature reaches -153 ° C. There are no oxygen. It means, that there are no conditions for a normal human existence.
Mars is enveloped in a veil of mystery. More than half of the vehicles launched on Mars disappeared without a trace. It is assumed that there is even a so-called “Bermuda Triangle” on Mars, which caused the loss of so many vehicles. Not everyone knows, but for the first time Mars was discovered by the Italian scientist Galileo Galilei in the 17th century.
Mars was so interested in people that in the XIXth among the intellectuals arose the “Martian fever”. Her mystery to this day does not leave the scientists alone. Recently, workers at the Carnegie Institute in the United States have found new evidence of life on the planet. The NASA Curiosity Mars helped them in this affair, having found organic cells on the surface. How did it find them? A special device heated stones from the crater of Gale. It was found that organic substances are released together with the gas. Scientists have found out that these cells are more than three billion years old. Further study showed that earlier on the site of the craters there was a lake containing all the necessary elements for life. This again confirms the fact that life on Mars is still present. In 2020, the US plans to continue studying the Red Planet in 2020. It will do a rover NASA Mars-2020 and a miniature chemical laboratory on the rover ExoMar.
