During the excavations, Israeli archaeologists discovered alcoholic drinks of the First World War. The bottles were owned by British servicemen. The scientists wanted to find a weapon but came across a warehouse with alcohol.
Interesting finds
At the site of the excavation, there was the garrison of the British army in 1917. Here, the containers of gin, whiskey, beer, and wine were found. In addition to the bottles, shaving accessories, buttons, and spins from military uniforms, as well as equestrian equipment were found.
Opinion of archaeologists
The scientists say that the find is very entertaining. Now we can imagine how the soldiers had been spending their free time. On the diversity of alcohol, the experts concluded that it had been at the disposal of the officers. Together with the bottles, porcelain plates were found. Presumably, alcoholic beverages were supplied to the military from Europe.
