A poster with the inscription “Refugees, welcome!” appeared on the Statue of Liberty in New York. Exactly who placed the banner on the legendary symbol of the United States is unknown. Police are engaged in clarifying this issue. Six-meter banner had been hanging on the statue for about an hour.
Under American law, placing banners on national monuments are strictly prohibited.
This action is directed against the wish of American President Donald Trump enact migration decree.
Earlier, more than a hundred shops and restaurants in the USA were closed for a day in protest against the Trump’s policy of migration.
Court of Appeal in San Francisco refused to restore the migratory decree. Therefore, the inhabitants of the seven countries that are listed in the act, may cross the border of the USA legally.
