An eruption of volcano Etna was recorded by the scientists. This volcano is located in the east of the Italian island of Sicily.
The greatest activity is observed by the volcanologists near the south-eastern crater. The residents of the city of Catania, which lies at the foot of Mount Etna, were able to watch the fountains of molten lava. In addition, the eruption of the volcano is accompanied by the emission of volcanic bombs and small explosions.
According to the scientists, who conduct surveillance of this natural phenomenon, there is no danger to people and close objects. Airport, located near the volcano, does not even cease its work.
Etna is one of the most active volcanoes in Europe. Its height — three kilometers. The last eruption of the volcano was registered in December 2015.
