It’s hard to find someone who does not like to eat potatoes. Fried, boiled, baked, mashed… There are many variants for eating this vegetable. But, unfortunately, this product can hardly be attributed to low-calorie ones. Do you think that dietary potatoes are fiction? You are wrong.
The scientists from Great Britain could breed a sort of potatoes that contain fewer calories. The most interesting thing is that the experts did not set such a goal. The researchers wanted to grow a root crop, which had a pleasant creamy smell. The low-calorie content of the product has become an additional bonus for the scientists.
The specialists named a new kind of potato “Vivaldi” (probably, in honor of the famous Italian composer).
According to the laboratory tests, this sort contains almost one-third fewer carbohydrates and calories than ordinary potatoes have.
