Thai surgeons have performed a unique operation. They extracted from the stomach of a green turtle five kilograms of coins of different countries and value. This treasure was collected by the animal for many years at the bottom of a pond in Chonburi province, where tourists have been throwing coins for happiness.
The doctors jokingly called the turtle Moneybox. A 25-year-old sea animal could no longer swim normally.
The surgeons operated on the unfortunate turtle. The operation lasted 7 hours. According to the doctors, the turtle is quickly restored after the intervention. After a seven-day rehabilitation, the Moneybox will return to its habitat.
Turtles-long-livers
Moneybox is a pretty young representative of its kind. On average, green turtles live up to 80 years. And with good care, this term can increase to 100-120 years.
