The sharp rise in births is registered in China. Such a situation arose after certain amendments to the legislative acts of the country. Previously, the inhabitants of China could have only one child per family. The law called “One family – one child” acted. The exceptions were representatives of national and religious minorities. At the moment, the Chinese authorities have allowed having two children.

Cancellation of restrictions became very timely since there was a sharp reduction in the number of able-bodied population.

Over the past year in China, nearly 18 million children were born. This figure is 1.5 million more than in 2015.

One family – one child

The restrictions on the number of children in one family were introduced in 1979. The Chinese government feared that a large population of the country would be a very heavy burden for the economy. If people wanted to have more than one child, these families were forced to pay fines.
