The new passports have been introduced in Ukraine from the 1st of January. They are in the form of ID-card.

Now there are some difficulties for Ukrainian people, who want to go abroad. For example, the Ukrainians who have only new passports are not allowed to cross the border with the Republic of Belarus. It was announced by the head of the border control department Sergey Byshik.

If you want to visit this country you must have either a foreign passport or a passport of the old sample (a paper book).

This problem arose from the fact that Kiev has not yet started a formal procedure for the recognition of a new Ukrainian passport data as the original document for crossing the border with Belarus.

The representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry remind that according to the agreement on visa-free travel, Ukrainian new passport is not stipulated for the admission of citizens across the border with Belarus.
