An earthquake was in the American state of Oklahoma. Its magnitude is equal to 5.3 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake destroyed many buildings. Some settlements were left without electricity. The epicenter of the natural disaster was the US city of Cushing, which is located 80 kilometers from the center of the state. There was a gas leak in this settlement. Some local residents were quickly evacuated. There was a threat of an explosion of the oil of the New York Commodity Exchange, which is stored in Cushing. On Monday the lessons were canceled in all the schools of the city.

According to the mayor’s assistant Jamie Fraser, a few people were injured as a result of the earthquake.

At the moment the supply of electricity is fully restored.

Earth tremors were also notable in the states of Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.
