On Saturday, October 8, the parliamentary elections were held in Georgia. The representatives of the European Union confirmed that they were carried out in accordance with all the international norms and rules. Federica Mogherini, the representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said that the Georgian elections were competitive and well-organized. All the formalities have been complied. There were a few minor violations, but on the whole, everything was at a high level. The European Union also confirmed its readiness to cooperate with the newly elected Parliament of Georgia.

The party “Georgian Dream” has won the most votes  (almost 50%)

Some people were not pleased with the election results. The representatives of the Georgian opposition claim that there were significant violations on the elective areas which influenced the general result. The oppositionists maintain that the elections have been rigged.
