“Normandy contact group” will meet on the 19th of October in Berlin. German Chancellor Angela Merkel initiated the negotiations. The heads of Ukraine, Russia, and France have already confirmed their participation in this event.
Petro Poroshenko has discussed the conditions of a formal dinner during the tripartite telephone conversation with the leaders of Germany and France.
The purpose of the meeting in the German capital is the motive of Russian President Vladimir Putin to fulfill the Minsk agreement on security. The situation in the Donbass will be the main theme of the forthcoming meeting of A. Merkel, F. Hollande, P. Poroshenko and V. Putin.
The conference of the “Normandy contact group” leaders will be held on the eve of the EU summit, which is scheduled for October 20-21. During the EU summit, the issue of security will also be regarded. Besides, it is planned to introduce the additional sanctions against some Russian citizens because of the continuing fighting in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
