Lufthansa pilots’ strike continues for the second day. Airline leaders were forced to cancel more than nine hundred flights scheduled for Thursday.
It was assumed that the duration of the strike would not exceed 24 hours. But the pilots of Cockpit trade union have not yet started to work. At the same time, the employees of a subsidiary Eurowings have already returned to their duties.
Lufthansa’s owners can not explain what has caused the continuation of Cockpit pilots’ protest.
German pilots demand increase of their salary by 20%. According to the airline’s employees, the size of payments has been frozen and was not indexed for five years .
This is not the first strike of the Lufthansa’s employees. Over the past two years, the pilots have been refusing to work more than ten times.
