According to the official sources, the Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi resigns. The reason for this decision is the failure of the voting for a new constitutional reform.

Parliament under the leadership of Renzi has put the question of reform to the referendum. But the Italians did not support this proposal.

Earlier, the Italian Prime Minister said that he would resign in case of defeat.

Generally speaking, the reform was not so essential for the country’s inhabitants. But in this way, they were able to express their attitude towards the current government. The Italians are dissatisfied with the large influx of migrants to their country, as well as the decline in the economy.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella asked Matteo Renzi to remain in the post until the formation of new Cabinet of Ministers. Besides, an important condition for the satisfaction of Prime Minister’s resignation was the adoption of the country’s budget for the next year.
